About & editorial policy

SaltLakeCityRoofing.org is an independent educational resource for homeowners in Salt Lake County, Utah. We are not a roofing contractor and we do not perform, inspect, or warranty roofing work.

How the site is funded

When a homeowner submits the quote form, we pass the request to a licensed local roofing contractor, who may pay us for that referral. This does not change what our guides say. [VERIFY: final disclosure wording once the partner arrangement is set]

Editorial standards

• We cite primary sources (Utah DOPL, city building departments, the Utah Insurance Department, NOAA) for local facts.
• We don't publish invented statistics, prices, reviews, or contractor names. Anything still unverified is marked for review before launch.
• Guides show a "last reviewed" date and are updated when codes or sources change.
• Nothing here is legal, insurance, or engineering advice. Check with your insurer, city, or a licensed professional.
